The President of Asokwa Deportivo SC Amidu Camarat has admitted that many Ghana Premier League clubs have invaded his team selecting players haphazardly following their envious performance in the just ended Zone 2 GN Bank Division One League.
According to the president, the prospect of the team has whet the appetite of many Premier League clubs that are earnestly preparing for the First Capital Plus Premier League next season.
Amidu revealed that most of his players have already dominated the Ghana Premier League and the attacking prowess demonstrated by Joel Fameyeh has intensified the interest of the clubs.
Speaking to GHANAsoccernet.com Camarat said “The performance of the team this season has really prompted the Premier Clubs that we have talents at our disposal. Joel’s performance alone has been very remarkable and clubs have really come around.”
“As of now, about fifteen out of the thirty players registered for the season have all been poached. It is good economically but it means the following season will be a tough one for us,” he added.
“For now I can say that Appiah McCarthy, Joel Fameyeh, Ishak Konda, Abass Mohammed and Yusif Musah will all not be part of Asokwa Deportivo next season.”
Asokwa Deportivo SC placed sixth on the 16-team league table at the end of the first round scoring the highest number of goals in the zone.
