AshantiGold troubles compound as Miners crush out of MTN FA Cup

AshantiGold’s season moved from bad to worse after suffering an ignominious exit from the MTN FA Cup losing 4-2 on penalties to Asokwa Deportivo on Thursday in the round of 32.

The Miners conceded on 38 minutes when the hosts whip in a free kick at the Baba Yara Stadium.

But the struggling Ghana Premier League side continued to push for the leveller and defender Godfred Rockson headed in a cross on 87 minutes.

During the penalty shootouts, Asokwa Deportivo converted all first four kicks but Rockson and Paul Abaka wasted their kicks.
