Ashantigold sack coach Yaw Acheampong

Struggling Ghana  Premier League side Ashantigold have sacked head coach Yaw Acheampong and his assistant Kamara Dini.

Officials of the club arrived at the decision  minutes ago following their recent poor run of form in the country’s top-flight league.

The future of  Acheampong especially had come under intense scrutiny with growing reports of being shown the exit  before the end of the first season.

The club’s home draw against Tema Youth last Sunday was the last straw as he has been told his services are longer required at the club.

Perhaps the dismissal of his assistant Kamara Dini could come as a surprise having supervised the side’s 1-0 victory at Hearts of Oak three weeks ago.

Acheampong is believed to have lost the dressing room control, culminating in growing indiscipline in the team.

It’s being widely reported that some key players were unimpressed with his tactical approach to games and wanted him axed.

Former Ghana international Kofi Amoako will take temporal charge of the club ahead of an appointment of a substantive coach.

Acheampong  becomes the third coaching casualty this season after CK Akunnor and Stephen Abugri were sacked by Hearts and King Faisal respectively.
