ASEC Mimosa coach opens up about 2024 President’s Cup triumph over Asante Kotoko

ASEC Mimosa’s head coach, Julien Chevalier, has shared insights on their victory in the 2024 Ghana President’s Cup against Asante Kotoko.

The Ivorian team secured a 2-1 win over the Porcupine Warriors with two first-half goals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Despite coming straight from Morocco after a CAF Champions League defeat against Wydad Casablanca, ASEC Mimosa accepted GHALCA’s invitation to participate in Ghana’s 67th Independence Day Celebration.

Chevalier mentioned the need for seriousness and adjustments in the starting lineup following their recent loss.

Speaking after the game, Julien Chevalier said: “We planned to be serious. We had to make some changes to starting XI because we lost 1-0 in the CAF Champions League. We planned to show a good picture of Asec Mimosa.”

The ASEC Mimosa team displayed eagerness, determination, and a relentless spirit throughout the match, pressing and fighting for every ball.

Their proactive approach unsettled Asante Kotoko, showcasing a strong performance to represent ASEC Mimosa positively.

The special football match between ASEC Mimosa and Asante Kotoko was part of Ghana’s 67th Independence Day celebrations.
