Berekum Chelsea winger Solomon Asante has expressed delight at his ‘miraculous’ debut Ghana call-up.
The two-time Burkina Faso Premier League top scorer was handed a late invitation to replace Bristol City winger Albert Adomah who pulled out due to a knee injury.
He will join the 30-man squad that will begin preparations on Monday May 21 for the matches against Lesotho on June 1 in Kumasi before playing Zambia in Lusaka eight days later.
Asante told Sunyani-based Storm FM: “You look at it that someone has to pull out of the squad before I could get a place in it means I was destined to be called and the miracle has come to pass.
”But the important thing is I have to impress them and remain in the team.”
The former Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy graduate has international exposure after featuring for Burkina Faso in a friendly against South Africa in August last year.
