Asante Kotoko’s management has recalled their talented goalkeeper, Fredrick Asare, for the highly anticipated Ghana Premier League Matchday 32 encounter against Accra Great Olympics, scheduled for Sunday.
Asare, who is a key player for the Reds, will make his way to Kumasi for the pivotal Ghana Premier League match and is expected to return to the Black Stars camp on Monday.
The former Accra Lions goalkeeper is a key player in head coach Otto Addo’s 26-man squad, selected for Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
The first qualifier, against Mali, is slated for Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako, with a kick-off time of 19:00. This will be followed by a face-off against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024.
Currently sitting 4th in Group I, the Black Stars hope to secure victories in both games to boost their chances of qualifying for the World Cup, which will be hosted in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Asante Kotoko is currently 10th on the league table with 43 points after 31 games.
