Ghana Premier League Champions Asante Kotoko SC have officially written to Ashanti Gold SC for the services of their leading striker Yaw Annor.
The Porcupines have identified the 24-year-old as a marquee signing for their CAF Champions league campaign.
Their Management lead by Nana Yaw Amponsah are said to have opened talks with the Obuasi club for Annor who has had a steller campaign.
Reports say the price tag on the forward is about GH¢ 30,000 despite having only a year left on his contract.
An undisclosed Egyptian club are also keeping tabs on Annor and would not hesitate to hijack the deal away from Kotoko.
Annor scored 22 goals in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League and won the Golden boot award. His prolific output equalled Hearts of Oak legendary striker Ismael Addo’s 21-year-old record for most goals in the league in a single season.
It is unlikely the player will stay at Ashgold following their demotion to the third tier of Ghana football after being found guilty of engaging in match-fixing together with Inter Allies.
