Asante Kotoko have officially parted ways with defender Mohammed Nurudeen Yussif after one season.
According to the club, Nurudeen agreed to leave to focus on his medical career as a professional nurse with the Ghana Health Service.
The Porcupine Warriors confirmed the agreement on their website:
“The Porcupine Warriors confirmed on their website after the agreement. “The club entered into a three-year employment agreement with Nurudeen before the commencement of the 2023/24 football season. However, management notes that Nurudeen also has a contract with the Ghana Health Service as a practicing enrolled nurse. The club explored all possible options to convince him to focus on his football career, but Nurudeen remained committed to his career in nursing.”
The 31-year-old scored twice and provided an assist in 24 appearances for Asante Kotoko in the 2023/24 season.
He previously featured for Real Tamale United and Medeama before joining the 2021/22 champions last season.
