Forward Kwame Opoku has confirmed his imminent move to Asante Kotoko, saying the deal is “almost 80% done”.
Opoku is keen to return to the fold of the Porcupine Warriors, having left them in 2021 for Algerian top-flight side USM Alger.
He scored seven goals for the reigning Ghana Premier League champions before the end of the first round prior to his departure.
The move has not turned out as planned with the striker finding difficulty in getting enough playing time, leaving the 23-year-old with no choice than to ask for a move away to his former side, Kotoko.
“…Me and my agent have asked for transfer,” He said on the Sports Page One show on Precise FM in Kumasi.
“I have a lot of offers including Hearts of oak. Hearts of oak talked to my agent sometime ago but for now, I can confirm Kotoko is leading almost 80% done. I can assure you for that.
“When I was leaving Kotoko, I said I have an unfinished business with the fans so if there’s an opportunity to serve again why not.”
