New Asante Kotoko signing Zacharia Fuseini has described his transfer to the Porcupine Warriors as the fulfilment of a lifelong dream.
The 27-year-old defender, who recently signed a three-year deal with the club, took to social media to express his joy and pride after completing the move. In an emotional tweet, Fuseini wrote:
“When dreams become reality! From cherishing this jersey at home to wearing it on the field and to defend the badge is indeed a dream come true. Finally, I am a Faabu boy.”
Fuseini joins Kotoko after years of standout performances with Berekum Chelsea, where he rose through the ranks to become captain. He made over 130 appearances for the club and also spent a brief period abroad with Spanish side San Fernando CD.
His passion for Kotoko, however, stretches far beyond his professional achievements. As a boy, Fuseini admired the club from a distance ; now, he gets the chance to wear the iconic red jersey and represent the team he grew up loving.
Known for his calmness, sharp reading of the game, and strong leadership, the former Black Meteors defender brings experience and maturity to Kotoko’s defence.
He has already set his sights on helping the club achieve success and earning a place in the senior national team.
“People say this move came late,” Fuseini said in a club interview. “But I believe I’ve arrived at the right time ; more mature, more experienced, and fully ready to take on the challenge.”
Asante Kotoko fans will be hoping his passion translates into performances on the pitch as the club rebuilds for the upcoming season.
