Asante Kotoko have ended their five-game winless run with a victory over Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

George Mfegue was fouled in the 18-yard box with a minute left to the hour mark.

Sherrif Mohammed stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to secure the much-needed win for the Porcupines.

It certainly takes pressure off head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum whose second coming has not been jerky.

Kotoko move up from the relegation zone to the 12th position while Medeama sit in seventh.
