The Chairman of Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee, Nana Apinkrah, has criticized the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for its response to the death of Kotoko fan Francis Frimpong, popularly known as “Pooley.”
Pooley was stabbed to death during Kotoko’s league match against Nsoatreman FC in Week 19 at the Nana Koromansah II Park in Nsoatre.
The GFA has since charged six Nsoatreman players for misconduct and banned the venue indefinitely.
Despite these actions, Kotoko believes the steps taken by the GFA are not enough.
“You [GFA] are only issuing fines, to the extent you are fining people who were not even involved. It’s as if you don’t care,” Apinkrah told the Ghana FA in a meeting.
“We are angry because it’s painful. It’s very painful.
“I was expecting that by this time the GFA would have probed into the whole situation including Ignatius Baffour Awuah who incited the fans against us.”
