Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narhe rues missed chances in draw against Aduana Stars

Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum was left to rue his Asante Kotoko side’s failure to convert several gilt-edged chances in their 1-1 draw against Aduana Stars in the Ghana Premier League.

Etouga Mbella gave the home side the lead but later missed two penalties as Bright Adjei grabbed the equalizer for Aduana Stars in the dying embers of the game to hand his side a deserving draw at Baba Yara stadium.

Kotoko are still on top of the league standings with 56 points, nine pints above second-placed Bechem United who were also held to a 1-1 draw by defending champions Hearts of Oak.

“We have to do our homework well, and make sure we play well, we need to convert the numerous chances we create, we have to keep our focus in front of goal,” coach Narteh said after the game.

“If you see the chances we missed today, it shows the game shouldn’t have ended 1-1, it should have ended in a cricket scoreline.”

Asante Kotoko will travel to Obuasi to face regional rivals Ashanti Gold SC in their next Premier League game.
