Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan insists he will return to the Black Stars after calling temporal time on his international career.
The 26-year-old announced his decision to take an indefinite break from international football in February after he came in for heavy criticism following his semi-final penalty miss against Zambia at the 2012 African Cup of Nations held in Gabon and Equitorial Guinea
The former Rennes attacker, considered to be a leading figure in the Ghana camp felt the time was ripe for him to step out of the limelight.
But the Sunderland man insists he will return to the Black Stars when he is psychologically fit.
“My confidence level for the Black Stars dropped drastically, something I’ve nver experienced in my career after the World Cup and Nations Cup tournament in Gabon-Equatorial Guineaâ€, Gyan told Accra-based Peace FM
“I was misquoted about me quitting the Black Starsâ€.
“I just wanted a break from the national team after missing those two important penalties.
“Officials of the Ghana Football Association have spoken to me and my family and I believe at the right time I will return to the national team,â€
