Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has lauded the Black Stars for their ruthless attacking display in Wednesday’s emphatic 5-0 win over the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Reacting after the match in Morocco, the country’s all-time top scorer admitted it had been a while since he witnessed such clinical finishing from the national team.
“In the first half, we struggled a bit physically and had to make adjustments, and you saw how offensive and sharp we were in the second half,” Gyan said in an interview with 3sports.
“They’ve shown they can score goals, we scored three against Madagascar and now five today.”
The result keeps Ghana firmly in control of Group I with 22 points, and need a point to seal a spot at next year’s World Cup.
“But it’s not time to celebrate yet. We must finish the job in Accra, and I’m calling on all fans to come in their numbers to support the team,” Gyan added.
Ghana face Comoros in their final world cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 12.
