Former Ghana international Asamoah Gyan has denied media reports that Sulley Muntari slapped Moses Armah Parker at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil

News went rife about disagreements over appearance fees for both officials and players, with Muntari allegedly opposing payments to officials.

This included physical assault of then management member Parker.

Speaking on Onua FM, Gyan emphatically poured cold water on those claims.

“Sulley [Muntari] never slapped anybody.

“I just don’t want to go into details, but all I will say is that he never slapped anybody.” he stated.

Muntari was sacked from the team’s camp due to disciplinary issues and subsequently excluded from the team.

In a positive turn of events, both Muntari and Parker have reconciled since then. They were seen burying the hatchet and posing for a photograph during the 2022 FIFA World Cup held in Qatar.
