Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan rewarded Liberty Professionals with an amount of US$ 3,000 for their win over New Edubiase United at the Dansoman Park on Monday afternoon.
Ebo Mends and Bernard Arthur scored in each half of the game to ensure Liberty won by 2-0.
Gyan who went into the dressing room to speak to the players after the first half assured the players of the cash if they go ahead to win the game.
The Shanghai SIPG striker is believed to be in the country to attend the funeral of boxing trainer Emmanuel Nii Teiko Tagoe.
Nii Teiko is the trainer of boxer Emmanuel Tagoe , a boxer Asamoah Gyan has been promoting for some years now.
Gyan is expected to return to China on Wednesday after the funeral.
