Ghana attacker Emmanuel Gyasi has revealed that Brazil and Barcelona legend Ronaldinho was his childhood idol.
The Spezia player claimed he used to try to imitate Ronaldinho, whose numerous individual accolades include two Ballon D’or awards.
Gyasi told Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport that despite the difficulties he faced as a young boy, such as playing barefoot on grassless pitches, he found joy anytime he watched the World Cup winner.
He notes that if he meets the former Barcelona poster boy for dinner, he will express his gratitude for all the joy he has brought him.
“For dinner with him, I probably wouldn’t ask him anything, but I’d only say thank you because with his football he made many children like me happy,” Emmanuel Gyasi shared.
In the same interview, Gyasi expressed his desire to play in the 2022 World Cup after the Black Stars qualified for the tournament in Qatar this year.
