With the resumption of the 2010 world cup qualifiers barely a month away, Milovan Rajevac and his technical team have been busy trying to assemble the best crop of players. Arwuah is hoping they will look in his direction too.

The Ghanaian captained the South Africa PSL side to promotion and is now hoping that after proving himself in South Africa, he will get the chance to compete for a position in arguably the strongest department of the squad; midfield.

But Ghana’s selectors have often looked to Europe in calling up players for the Black Stars until Jonathan Quartey and Jonathan Mensah forced a rethink of that approach.

“Playing in SA should even count as an advantage in getting into the Black Stars,” Arwuah told KickOffGhana.com. “The standard of the football here is as high as you will find in some leagues of Europe. Also, the fact that I play against so many players from different backgrounds makes me better, which is something the national team can benefit from.”

With the likes of Sulley Muntari, Michael Essien, Stephen Appiah and Laryea Kingston all regular members of the Ghana midfield, Arwuah knows he is up against some stiff competition but thinks his accurate passing game and ability to launch attacks are qualities that the side will need on the road to SA 2010.
