Revealed: Arsenal’s transfer stance on Reiss Nelson amid summer interest

Arsenal are keen to find a permanent buyer for former youth star Reiss Nelson this summer as opposed to another loan deal, with the Englishman having just 12 months left to run on his contract in north London.

Nelson spent last season on loan at Feyernoord, but only really began to impress towards the end of the campaign, with five of his six Eredivisie goal contributions coming in his final four appearances in the Dutch top flight.

Revealed: Arsenal’s transfer stance on Reiss Nelson amid summer interest

Now 22 years old and yet to kick on in the same way that the likes of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have done at The Emirates Stadium, Nelson seems likely to leave this summer, with Arsenal having already been linked to another winger in the transfer window.

And, as per Goal.com, Arsenal would prefer that he left on a permanent deal rather than another loan move, despite Feyenoord being keener on a loan deal at present.

That could change, however, with the dual sale of Tyrell Malacia and Luis Sinisterra to Manchester and Leeds United respectively in the coming days set to hand them a cash injection of around 45m euros.

Pepe to follow?

Another winger seemingly set to depart this summer is Nicolas Pepe, though more likely on loan as few will be willing to stump up the sort of fee that the Gunners would want to take their £72m investment off their hands.

Any loan move could include an option to buy the Ivorian at the end of the deal, but as shown with both Lucas Torreira and Ainsley Maitland-Niles last season, those do not translate into a guaranteed sale no matter how the loan move goes.
