English Premier League giants Arsenal have set their sights on a midfield reinforcement in the January transfer window amid growing concerns over Thomas Partey’s fitness.
The Ghanaian international has already missed three games in the ongoing Premier League campaign with a thigh injury.
He returned after a month out in the 3-0 win over Brentford, but there were further concerns when he withdrew from the Ghana squad to face Nicaragua having already missed the Black Stars’ 3-0 defeat to Brazil.
Partey is set for another spell on the sideline with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta reportedly growing frustrated with the former Atlético Madrid star’s injury issues.
The Gunners have therefore decided to rekindle their interest in Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz in January, having had two offers turned down at the end of the summer transfer window.
