Arsenal’s midfield Thomas Partey, is set to be sidelined for a few weeks due to a muscle injury, according to the club’s manager, Mikel Arteta.
This unfortunate setback comes as a significant blow to the Gunners as they prepare for their upcoming Premier League clash against Sheffield United on Saturday.
Speaking about Partey’s injury, Arteta expressed his concern, saying, “He’s got a muscle injury, and we are expecting him to be out for a few weeks.”
The manager added that the full extent of the injury is not yet clear, as the player was undergoing further tests.
The injury occurred in a training session just before Arsenal’s Champions League match against Sevilla in midweek, with Arteta revealing, “He picked up that injury in a training session with the last kick of the ball before Sevilla, so very unfortunate.”
The Ghanaian international’s injury record hasn’t been great since joining the North London club, he has missed 11 games due to injury since last season for Arsenal.
