Arsenal have declined to comment on the rape and sexual assault charges against Thomas Partey, citing ongoing legal proceedings.
The 32-year-old Ghana midfielder’s contract with the club ended on June 30.
“The player’s contract ended on June 30. Due to ongoing legal proceedings, the club is unable to comment on the case,” Arsenal said in a statement.
Partey has denied all charges through his lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire.
“Thomas Partey denies all the charges against him,” she said. “He has fully cooperated with the police and the CPS throughout their three-year investigation. He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name.” Wiltshire added that Partey cannot comment further due to the ongoing legal proceedings.
Partey is set to appear in court on August 5, 2025, to face the charges. The Ghana international has maintained his innocence and is looking forward to clearing his name.
The case will proceed in court, where Partey’s defense will be heard. For now, the focus is on the legal process, and both parties will present their cases in due course.
