The game also marked Giorgio Chiellini’s last ever game for his country with Argentina using their speed and agility to outrun the aging Italy defense which was outplayed for the better part of the game.
The Mancini men however had the best first chance of the game with Giacomo Raspadori having a decent effort from outside the area saved early on. But Lionel Messi, who was named the player of the tournament made some space down the right and squared the ball to Lautaro Martinez who gave the South American’s a 28th-minute lead.

And with just seconds left of the first half, they doubled their lead as Di Maria raced in on goal and dinked the ball over Gianluigi Donnarumma. Messi then again set up Dybala right at the death to add a third and hand Argentina the trophy.
