The Black Stars are reportedly earning $ 70,000 per player in appearance fee and $ 15,000 for every win at the World Cup which means each player could be over a $ 100,000 richer after the group stages.
Both Appiah and GFA president Kwasi Nyantekyie will not confirm the exact figures in separate interviews with KickOffGhana.com but Appiah is adamant the players have every right to the money they earn.
“We are working to earn what we deserve,” Appiah said.
“We talked once and that was all. It is the federation that wanted to discuss our bonuses. If we deal with it now then there is no problem in future. The team qualified and Ghana will earn huge money from the World Cup and I don’t see anything wrong with the players earning well.”
“The most important thing is that we will play with full commitment for the Nation. For us this is not all about the money. It is about our desire to do well in the biggest tournaments in world football.”
Ghana play their final friendly on Saturday in Milton Keynes, England before emplaning for South Africa on Sunday where they face Serbia, Australia and Germany in Group D.
