Apollon Limassol confirm agreement with Neftçi to sign Ghana’s Godsway Donyoh

Cypriot football powerhouse Apollon Limassol FC has announced that it has come to a preliminary agreement with Neftçi Baku to acquire Ghanaian forward Godsway Donyoh.

The former Manchester City youth player will sign a contract with Apollon until May 2025, following the completion of his medical examination.

The club confirmed the agreement in a statement on their website on Monday.

“The Apollon Football (Public) Ltd Company announces the agreement in principle with Neftçi Baku for the acquisition of the footballer Godsuei Donio until May 2025,” the statement said. 

The footballer is expected in Cyprus in the next few days to undergo medical tests and to ratify the agreement.”

The 28-year-old began his football journey at Right to Dream Academy, and at 17, he ventured to England to join Manchester City’s Elite Development Squad.

He then embarked on loan stints with Swedish clubs Djurgårdens IF and Falkenberg, before making a permanent move to Danish Superliga outfit FC Nordsjaelland in 2016.

In 2020, he joined Israeli giants Maccabi Haifa, where he won two league championships and a super cup, before moving to Azerbaijan to play for Neftchi last summer.

Donyoh has left Azerbaijan with 21 appearances and five goals.
