German-born Ghanaian defender Andrew Owusu has completed a move to Regionalliga Nord side Bremer SV ahead of the 2025–26 campaign.
The 24-year-old joins on a free transfer after a solid season with MTV Eintracht Celle, where he featured in 31 matches across all competitions in the Lower Saxony Oberliga. His contract with the fifth-tier club expired this summer.
Bremer SV confirmed the signing in an official statement, describing Owusu as a “powerful and versatile” left-back who also brings height and presence at 1.90 m.
The ex-Arminia Hannover and HSC Hannover defender is expected to bolster the team’s backline with his pace and agility.
Speaking to the club’s website, Owusu said:
“I primarily play at left-back but can also operate on either flank. I’m looking forward to contributing to the team’s success and experiencing the atmosphere at Panzenberg.”
Sporting director Ralf Voigt praised the signing, calling Owusu “a valuable addition with solid technique and offensive potential,” while noting that the club will help sharpen his defensive skills further.
Although born in Germany, Owusu remains eligible to represent Ghana internationally, having yet to make a senior appearance for the German national team
