Andre Ayew believes Gyan, Asamoah won’t be missed against Uganda and Togo

Ghana winger Andre Ayew says the Black Stars still have enough ammunition to destroy Uganda and Togo despite missing key duo Asamoah Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah.

Gyan is recovering form a thigh injury he sustained three weeks ago playing for his UAE-based side Al Ain.

Asamoah aggravated a knee injury and will require 15 days to recover, according to his Italian side Juventus.

The Black Stars held their first training at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday without the two players ahead of travelling to Uganda on Thursday.

“Both Gyan and Kwadwo are influential players for us and it’s important we acknowledge that,” the Olympique Marseille star said.

“But even in their absence we still have a squad capable of beating any team on our day so we are confident of winning to seal qualification.”
