Anderlecht sweating over Majeed Ashimeru fitness ahead of Belgian Cup final  –

Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is likely to miss Anderlecht game against Genk in the Belgian Cup final.

The former RB Salzburg midfielder is still nursing his injury and did not train with the group on Thursday.

Ashimeru sustained the ankle injury that kept him out of Ghana’s World Cup playoff against Nigeria last month.

He was rested by the club for the game against Kortrijk last weekend in order for him to recuperate on time for the Belgian Cup final.

However the Ghana international is racing to be fit ahead of the game.

Majeed Ashimeru has been in good form for Vincent Kompany’s side this season and his absence will be a big blow to the team.

Anderlecht coach Vincent Kompany is expected to name the squad ahead of the game on Sunday.
