Former Assistant coach of the Black Stars, George Boateng has disclosed that it was very difficult to take when Ghana crashed out of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The former Dutch international worked with sacked Black Stars coach Chris Hughton at the AFCON in Ivory Coast.
After failing to win a single game in the group stages, Ghana could not advance to the knockout phase.
Speaking to Sky Sports, George Boateng said it is important for the coaches to evaluate and learn from the disappointing AFCON campaign.
“It was difficult to deal with the fact that you didn’t progress to the next stage but it’s football.
“All you can do as a coaching staff is accept responsibility for it, evaluate what went wrong together with the FA and players to help ourselves to make sure that next time when we do get another opportunity, we learn from it,” Coach George Boateng said.
Meanwhile, the Ghana FA is in the process of finding a new head coach for the Black Stars.
