Former Ghana FA Vice President George Afriyie has expressed strong belief in the Black Stars’ chances of overcoming every opponent in their 2026 FIFA World Cup group.
Ghana was drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama for next summer’s tournament, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Speaking on Asempa FM, Afriyie acknowledged the quality of the group rivals but insisted the Black Stars have the talent and experience to secure victories in all three matches.
“England, Croatia, and Panama are all beatable,” Afriyie stated confidently.
He also highlighted the need for high-profile friendlies in the lead-up to the tournament, stressing that such matches would give the squad valuable preparation.
Ghana will kick off their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, face England in Boston on June 23, and conclude the group stage versus Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
After disappointing group-stage exits in Brazil 2014 and Qatar 2022, the Black Stars will be eager to advance further and make a stronger mark on the world stage.
