Ghana international Alidu Seidu has successfully undergone surgery to address the injury sustained during Stade Rennais’ Ligue 1 match against Lille.
The Black Stars right-back ruptured the cruciate ligaments in his left knee after landing awkwardly, forcing him to be replaced after just 17 minutes.
He is expected to be out for the rest of the season, dealing a significant blow to Stade Rennais, where he had become a key figure since joining in January 2024.
It therefore rules him out of Black Stars 2026 World Cup squad for the qualifying campaign.
Seidu had been in solid form, earning the September Player of the Month award and featuring in 11 matches this season.
