Albert Amoah Urges Kotoko Fans to Keep Faith Ahead of Hearts of Oak Showdown

Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah has made an emotional appeal to supporters, urging them not to lose belief in the team despite their inconsistent run of form this season.

The Porcupine Warriors have struggled for stability in recent weeks, suffering consecutive setbacks — first a league defeat to Heart of Lions, followed by their MTN FA Cup exit against Aduana FC. The results have increased pressure on the squad as they prepare for one of the biggest fixtures on the Ghanaian football calendar.

With the much-anticipated Super Clash against Accra Hearts of Oak fast approaching, Amoah, who rejoined Kotoko during the recent transfer window, has called on fans to rally behind the team and fill the stadium to inspire a turnaround in fortunes.

“It’s our performance that matters,” he told Akoma FM. “Our supporters should continue to believe in us. They shouldn’t give up on us. I will plead with them to come out in their numbers to support the team. Honestly, without them, it feels like we are not playing for anyone.”

Kotoko head into the derby without a substantive head coach following the resignation of Abdul Karim Zito. Assistant coach Prince Yaw Owusu has stepped in on an interim basis, working alongside Mohammed Hamza Obeng as the technical team looks to steady the club ahead of the crucial encounter.

The league standings underline how tight the contest is shaping up to be. Hearts of Oak currently sit fourth with 36 points, just one point above Kotoko in fifth place with 35 adding extra intensity and significance to a match that already carries enormous rivalry and bragging rights.
