Asante Kotoko began their 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League campaign with a 1-0 victory over Karela United at the Naa Sheriga Sports Centre in Nareligu on Sunday.
Despite a strong start from Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum’s side, Karela United absorbed the pressure, but ultimately succumbed to a powerful strike from Albert Amoah in the 35th minute.
The Porcupine Warriors’ defense held strong in the second half, securing all three points and ending Karela United’s unbeaten run against Kotoko in their last seven clashes across all competitions.
In their next fixture, Asante Kotoko will face Nsoatreman FC, while Karela United will take on Berekum Chelsea in match day two of the Ghana Premier League.
