Premier League legend Alan Shearer has lavished praise on Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo after his match-winning performance in Bournemouth’s 3-1 comeback victory over Fulham.
The 25-year-old was in blistering form on Friday night, scoring twice to inspire the Cherries’ turnaround.
The first was with a stunning solo effort equaliser and later with a calm finish on the counter to seal the win.
Semenyo’s brace lifted his season tally to six goals and three assists and pushed him past Tony Yeboah to become Ghana’s second-highest scorer in Premier League history.
Alan Shearer, the league’s all-time top scorer, included Semenyo in his Team of the Week and couldn’t hide his admiration for the Ghanaian’s progress.
“Scored an outstanding brace to continue his incredible start to the season. Semenyo has gone to another level for Bournemouth,” Shearer said.
The former Sunderland and Bristol City man has been one of Bournemouth’s most influential players this season, with his sharpness and maturity in front of goal earning him growing recognition across England.
