Sudanese giants Al Hilal have presented Asante Kotoko with a plaque of recognition to celebrate their contributions to African football.
The Porcupine Warriors are currently in Sudan for pre-season with Al Hilal hosting the Ghanaian giants.
The Ghana Premier League champions are one of the pacesetters of African football and remain a force to reckon with on the continent, despite their recent slump in Africa.
Asante Kotoko are two times champions of Africa and were the first team alongside Hearts of Oak to reach the finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.
“CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah, received a plaque on behalf of the club from the management of Al Hilal in recognition of Asante Kotoko’s Contribution to the Development of football in Africa,” wrote the club on Twitter.
Asante Kotoko engaged Al Hilal in a friendly on Tuesday, losing 2-0 and will play the same side for the second time before returning to Ghana for the start of the league.
