Afum insists he is yet to pick up scoring form in Swiss Super League

Young Boys’ Ghana striker, Samuel Afum, hopes to build his scoring form in the Swiss Super League after an impressive scoring running in his recent games.

The 22-year-old has emerged as the talisman for the Bern-based side as he continues to wave his attacking magic in the Swiss top-flight scoring his third goal in five games for the Yellow and Blacks in their 1-0 win over relegated FC Servette on Saturday.

The former Hearts of Oak man has been at the heart of Young Boys’ revival under new manager Bernard Challandes scoring three and providing four assists in his last six games for the club.

After netting the only goal in Saturday’s victory at Servette with a magnificent finish, the former Ghana Premier League Golden Shoe Award winner has been tipped to take the Super League by a storm.

But Afum insists he is still picking up his form and would score more goals if he keeps up.

“I’m growing my confidence now and want to take things easy here because I stayed inactive for close to two season but my progress has been steady and I’m happier now,” he told Ghanasoccernet.com.

“There is still more work to do, there are three games left to finish the season and that still provide an avenue to do more things (score goals) and I believe things will go well and I will try to be consistent as well.”

Afum has become the third top scorer at Young Boys just after joining the club in mid-season and has scored and assisted more goals than all Young Boys strikers.
