Afful takes dig at Stoichkov

Afful travelled to South Africa after the completion of the Ghana League season two weeks ago, but says he trained for two days and decided it was not going to be home after all.   “The coach was acting funny,” he told KickOffGhana.com. “He did not say a single word to me and I got a feeling that even though the club’s management wanted me, he wasn’t interested. Given that he takes the decisions about who will play and who will no, I knew my career will suffer if I signed. I did not feel right about it.   “I trained for two days and then they asked that I stay on for a one week trial, but I didn’t feel it would be right for me because the coach just did not look interested.”   Afful says he will extend his deal with Kumasi Asante Kotoko and feels he can advance his career in Ghana.   The 23-year old has been Ghana’s first-choice left-back since the 2008 Nations Cup and has played in all but one of Ghana’s nine World Cup qualifiers to date.
