Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan came off the bench to rescue a point for Juventus U-23 in their 1-1 draw against Potenza in the Italian Serie C Group C.
The former AS Roma striker replaced Vasilije Adzic in the 62nd minute and made an instant impact, netting the equalizer in the 80th minute at the Stadio Comunale Alfredo Viviani.
His impressive display earned him the MVP award despite playing just 29 minutes.
The first half ended goalless, with both sides failing to capitalize on their chances.
Potenza broke the deadlock in the 74th minute through Emanuele Schimmenti, but Afena-Gyan’s late strike ensured Juventus U-23 walked away with a crucial away point.
The 22-year-old has now scored five goals and provided two assists in 20 appearances this season.
Juventus U-23 now sit 13th in the league standings with 35 points after 27 games.
