The Vice President of the Ghana Football Association Mr. Mark Addo has jumped into the defence of Chris Hughton after handing call-up to clubless Andre Ayew for this month’s AFCON qualifiers.
Ayew is part of Ghana’s 25-man squad for the crucial clash against Central African Republic despite not attached to any club, having been released by Nottingham Forrest last season.
“Dede Ayew is an integral member of the Black Stars. If he’s invited, it wouldn’t be a big deal,” Addo told Luv Fm.
The captain is part of the 10 players who have arrived in the country for the game.
The Black Stars will be hoping to secure qualification to the Totalenergies Africa Cup of nations tournament in Ivory Coast next year as they host Central Africa Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday at 16:00GMT.
