The Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo has officially announced the commencement of preparations for the Black Stars’ decisive group match in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against the Central African Republic (CAR).
The Black Stars, will officially kick off their training camp today in readiness for the pivotal encounter scheduled for September 7 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Head coach Chris Hughton unveiled a 25-man squad for this crucial fixture over the weekend, intensifying the anticipation surrounding the game.
In an interview with Kumasi-based Kessben FM, Mark Addo revealed that approximately ten players have already reported to the training camp to commence preparations for the high-stakes clash, with expectations of more arrivals before Tuesday.
Ghana currently lead the group with nine points, closely followed by Angola with eight points and the Central African Republic with seven points.
Ghana’s mission is clear: secure at least a draw or a win to secure their place in the upcoming tournament to be hosted in Ivory Coast next year.
