Ghana have been dealt a huge blow ahead of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Central African Republic.
The Black Stars will be missing the services of star man Thomas Partey following an injury he picked up in Arsenal training.
The midfielder who is set for a spell on the sideline has also been effectively ruled out of the Gunners’ big game against Manchester United in the English Premier League on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Ghana coach Chris Hughton has handed a debut call-up to Medeama SC striker Jonathan Sowah in his 25-man roster which was unveiled on Saturday.
Also in the squad are Elisha Owusu and Baba Iddrisu who make a return to the squad after recovering from injuries.
Another player who returns to the squad is South Africa based goalkeeper Richard Ofori who hasn’t played for Ghana since September 27, 2022 when Ghana beat Nicaragua 1-0 in a pre-World Cup friendly in Lorca, Spain.
The match against the Wild Beasts is set to take place on September 7th at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
