England-born Ghanaian attacker Antoine Selorm Semenyo has been handed a call-up to the Black Stars for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications next month.
Ghana head coach Otto Addo released a 33-man squad list on Thursday for the double-header against Madagascar and Central African Republic.
Semenyo has been included in Ghana’s squad for the very first time following his sterling performances for Bristol City in the English Championship this season.
The 22-year-old was initially included in Addo’s list for the 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria in March but an injury he picked up saw him missed out when the squad was announced.
Semenyo was outstanding in the English second-tier this term having made 31 appearances where he scored 8 goals and assisted 12 others in the process.
He is been courted by newly promoted Premier League clubs Fulham and AFC Bournemouth and also Scottish giants Celtic FC.
Semenyo could make his Black Stars debut when they host Madagascar at the Cape Coast stadium on June 1, 2022 before travelling to Angola to face Central Africa on June 5, 2022.
Ghana will proceed to Japan for the four nations Kirin Soccer Cup which will take place from June 10 to June 14, 2022.
Ghana will tackle Japan in the opening fixture of the mini tournament before taking on either Chile or Tunisia in the next match.
