PUMA, the kit sponsor for the Black Stars, has unveiled a new fanwear in anticipation for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Ghana will don a fresh jersey, also available for fans, produced by the German kit manufacturing company.
The attire not only features the vibrant colors of the Ghanaian flag but also pays homage to the country’s rich heritage by incorporating intricate ‘kente’ patterns into the design.
These kente strips symbolize Ghana’s tradition and culture, serving as a testament to the strength of its people.
Ghana’s last AFCON championship victory dates back to 1982, a time when none of the current players were even born.
Nevertheless, the Black Stars have reached the final of the competition in 1992, 2010, and 2015, with several other semi-final appearances.
In the upcoming tournament, Ghana finds itself in Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique. The 34th edition of the competition is scheduled to commence on January 13, 2024, in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
