AFCON 2023: Odartey Lamptey calls for Black Stars support at tournament

Former Ghana international Odartey is urging Ghanaians and the Ghana Football Association to support the Black Stars to succeed at the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

According to the 1991 FIFA U17 World Cup-winner, the team possesses all the qualities to excel at the tournament.

The four-time champions are still gunning for another title after failing to do so in the last 41 years.

Ghana find itself in Group B, alongside Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.

“I’m sure with the support of the FA and all Ghanaians I’m sure the team will succeed in the tournament,” Lamptey told Sienu TV.

“I’m positive after what I’ve seen we have a good team with an experienced coach.”

The 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast will start on January 13 and run until February 11.
