Ghana defender John Boye has admitted that Ghana’s Group C of the ongoing African Cup of Nations is the toughies group ever but it would have been a disaster if they failed to qualify from the group.

“The group is very tough but now we have qualify. It is not possible that Ghana will just go out from the group stages. It is not normal,” he said in an interview.

Ghana produced a storming comeback to advance to the African Cup of Nations quarterfinals on Tuesday.

The Stars were a goal down at halftime but beat South Africa 2-1 in Mongomo with two late strike.

A double switch from Coach Avram Grant, who modestly refused to take any credit, galvanised their second half possession into two goals.

John Boye equalised in the 73rd as he was left unmarked to finish off a scuffed shot from Ayew, who then got onto the end of Christian Atsu’s cross for the winner 10 minutes later when he rose majestically to head the winner seven minutes from time.
