Young Ghana striker Malik Abubakari is set to complete the 2022/23 season on loan at Cypriot club AEK Larnaca.
The 22-year-old spent the first half of the season in Finland with HJK Helsinki where he scored twice in 23 appearances.
One month after his return to Swedish champions Malmö FF – with whom he has a contract until December 2025 – a decision has been made for the 2021 summer signing from Portuguese side Moreirense to be sent out on another loan.
On Wednesday, AEK Larnaca announced via their official website that Abubakari is expected to arrive within the next 24 hours to complete the paperwork.

“Kition Sports Union (AEK) Larnaca announces the agreement in principle with Malmoe FF for the acquisition of the 22-year-old (02/10/2000) Ghanaian striker Abdul Malik Abubakari, on loan until the end of the season.
“The footballer is expected in Cyprus in the next 24 hours for the finalisation of the agreement.
“Abdul Malik Abubakari made 38 appearances and scored 8 goals for Malmoe FF.
“He started his career in his home country with Charity Stars and then played in Portugal with Moreirence, Fafe (25 appearances, 9 goals), Casa Pia (33 appearances, 11 goals) and in Finland with HJK Helsinki (23 appearances, 2 goals).”
