Nations FC continued their impressive run of form, defeating Aduana Stars 2-1 in a thrilling encounter at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Saturday. This victory extends their winning streak to five games, solidifying their position in the top half of the Ghana Premier League table.
Nations FC took control of the match early, with Barimah Baah scoring a crucial goal just before halftime. Nafiu Sulemana doubled their lead two minutes into the second half, seemingly putting the game beyond Aduana Stars’ reach.
However, Aduana Stars refused to give up. Justus Torsutsey pulled one back in injury time, giving the visitors a glimmer of hope. But ultimately, it was too little too late, as Nations FC held on for a well-deserved victory.
Despite the defeat, Aduana Stars coach Yaw Acheampong expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, particularly their improved second-half showing. He stated, “I’m happy that my players played very well. We had a better second half than the first half, and we will go back and see what to do next.”
This result sees Nations FC climb to fifth on the league table with 23 points, while Aduana Stars drop to second place with 24 points.
