Aduana FC have accused Accra-based clubs of intending to hand league title to Asante Kotoko after two of them chose Baba Yara Stadium as their home ground, says the club’s Communication Director, Evans Oppong.
Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics selected the Kumasi edifice following their closure of the Accra Sports stadium by the National Sports Authority.
Aduana have attained 27 points and currently top the Ghana Premier League standings.
“Accra clubs want to gift Asante Kotoko5 the league and we know, but we are calm working hard and hoping to do our best and win the league title,” Oppong told Kickoffghana.com.
“If you check, Kotoko have won all their away games against Accra clubs this season, what is the essence of the second venue chosen by clubs ahead of the league, what happened to the Sogakope Wafa Park and Cape Coast.
“Aduana have noticed that and we see it that they want to gift Asante Kotoko the league title this season.”
Kotoko are five points shy of the summit and will honor their Matchday 15 encounter against Great Olympics at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
