Ghana must overturn a 1-3 deficit against their bitter rivals, and a build-up dominated by accusations and counter accusations has charged the atmosphere even more.
A small group of senseless Ghanaian fans even managed to engage some Nigeria players into a water-sachet throwing session after training on Saturday, with four-letter rants thrown in.
But Ghana striker Dominic Adiyiah is keen to focus on the football. “For us the players we want to qualify for the Africa Games and to do that we must win by keeping calming both on and off the field,” he told KickOffGhana.com.
“The senior team brings so much joy to the fans when they play and we must strive to do same.”
Ghana needs goals in Sunday’s game but Adiyiah says for the strikers that does not mean extra pressure.
“This will take collective team effort, it will require everyone playing to their best ability,” he added.
